Legendary Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate or Kwam1, has finally broken his silence on the strained relationship between him and fellow Fuji veteran Ayinla Kollington—a fallout he describes as both painful and deeply disappointing.
In a candid interview with Agbaletu TV, the iconic singer didn’t mince words as he explained the root of his resentment. According to K1, the turning point came when Kollington failed to show up or offer condolences following the death of K1’s beloved mother—an act he described as a betrayal, especially considering the tremendous support he had once extended to Kollington.
“I am so angry with Alhaji Kollington because he never showed up to offer his condolences when I lost my mum,” K1 stated emotionally.
“When his own mother passed away, I was there for him 100%. I didn’t just show up—I financed the entire burial, brought dignitaries to honour her memory, and made sure it was befitting. How could he pay me back like this?”
K1 further expressed disbelief that Kollington, despite being in good health and present in Nigeria at the time, failed to attend or even make a heartfelt effort to reach out—only offering the excuse that he had called and received no answer.
“He said he called me and I didn’t pick up. Is that enough reason? With everything I did for him, am I not justified to be hurt?”

In a particularly serious claim, Kunle warned the public to hold K1 responsible should anything happen to him, citing his deteriorating health condition—specifically an ulcer he attributed to stress from years of mistreatment.
