Controversial street-hop sensation Portable is once again making headlines—this time with a heartfelt appeal to Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy.

In a recent Instagram post, Portable passionately begged Burna Boy for what he believes will be a life-changing collaboration. While expressing gratitude for the ₦20 million Burna gifted him, the singer made it clear that what he truly desires is a verse, not just money.

“Who go help you no go stress you,” Portable wrote.
“God sent Afunimawobe ODOGWU @burnaboygram. I really appreciate you in my life. ₦20M buy me happiness. I dey loyal my helper. Please give me a chance to see you and mingle with you. Only your verse can change my life. God bless you as you invest in me.”

The Backstory

Just days ago, Portable emerged victorious in a celebrity boxing match in Lagos against Burna Boy’s on-and-off rival, Speed Darlington. In a surprise twist, Burna Boy reportedly gifted Portable a whopping ₦20 million to celebrate his win.

But despite the generous gesture, Portable says he’s been ignored by Burna Boy ever since. In a video now circulating online, the “Zazuu Zeh” crooner lamented that Burna has refused to pick his calls or respond to his messages, leaving him feeling dismissed.

“Money go finish, but a verse go change my life forever,” Portable said. “Na the collabo I dey pray for, not just cash.”

A History of Callouts and Admiration

This isn’t the first time Portable has openly reached out to Burna Boy. In 2022, he accused the Afro-fusion star of allegedly copying his signature style and mannerisms, demanding recognition and a proper collaboration instead of what he called “free promo.”

Despite the tension, Portable has shown admiration for Burna on multiple occasions. Earlier this year, after Burna extended support to Cubana Chief Priest’s baby mama and brother, Portable praised the singer, calling him “bigger than his peers” and saying he’s in “the big league.”

Even last year, during the scandal involving American rapper Diddy, Portable released a song referencing Burna Boy’s rumored ties to the music mogul. In it, he warned his followers to be cautious of partying with people they don’t fully know.
