Premier League Predictions – Saturday, April 19

The Premier League is reaching its climax, with just six games left in the season and plenty still to play for—both at the top and bottom of the table. This weekend’s fixtures could prove pivotal, and @Footy_Tipster is back with his expert predictions.

Saturday’s Fixtures Overview

Saturday’s action kicks off at 3pm with four simultaneous clashes. Brentford host Brighton & Hove Albion in a battle of top-half hopefuls, Bournemouth visit Crystal Palace looking to keep their European dreams alive, Everton face off with Manchester City at Goodison Park, and already-relegated Southampton travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham.

The day concludes with a massive 5:30pm showdown between Aston Villa and Newcastle United, both in the hunt for a Champions League place.

Let’s take a closer look at each match and what to expect:

Brentford v Brighton & Hove Albion – 3pm

Brentford have earned back-to-back draws against Chelsea and Arsenal, keeping their slim European hopes alive. Now 11th in the table, they’re just five points off eighth. But with Brighton one place above them, this feels like a must-win fixture.

“This will be tough for Brentford though, they’ve not won any of their last nine games at home in all competitions, whilst they’ve beaten Brighton on home soil just once in their last six competitive meetings.”

Brighton’s form hasn’t been much better. A 2-2 draw with relegation-threatened Leicester extended their winless run to five games. With Fulham and Bournemouth all tied on 48 points, goal difference is keeping Brighton in 10th.

“This is a fixture that tends to end in a stalemate, the reverse fixture ended goalless in December, making it three draws in their last four meetings.”

Prediction: Each Team To Have A Corner In All 4 Corners Of The Pitch – #YourOdds (12/1)

Crystal Palace v AFC Bournemouth – 3pm

Palace are reeling after conceding five goals each to Manchester City and Newcastle in recent defeats. Once chasing European spots, they now sit 12th.

“Palace will be happy to return to Selhurst Park and familiar surroundings, they’ve won their last four here in all competitions and have beaten Bournemouth in three of the last four meetings in South London.”

Bournemouth, meanwhile, returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Fulham on Monday, thanks to a first-minute goal from Antoine Semenyo.

“None of the last eight meetings between these two sides have seen both teams score, with all eight also producing less than three goals. However, seven of Bournemouth’s last eight games have seen both teams on the scoresheet and with Palace’s recent leaky defence, that trend could change here.”

Prediction: Jean-Philippe Mateta To Score Assisted By Ismaila Sarr – #YourOdds (11/1)

Everton v Manchester City – 3pm

Everton pulled off a late win at Nottingham Forest last weekend and now sit 13th. With limited time left at Goodison Park in the Premier League, every home game has added meaning.

“The Toffees are playing for pride now but with just three games left to play at Goodison Park, they’ll want to make each game as special as they can for their faithful supporters, a victory here would be just that given they’ve not beaten Manchester City on Merseyside since 2017 (4-0).”

Manchester City had to dig deep to come back from 2-0 down against Palace last weekend, ultimately winning 5-2 thanks to a Kevin De Bruyne masterclass.

“For all the doom and gloom during this campaign for Pep Guardiola’s side, they still remain in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League spot with City currently occupying that final fifth European spot, albeit just one point from seventh.”

Prediction: Come From Behind And Win – Man City (9/1)

West Ham United v Southampton – 3pm

Graham Potter has yet to turn things around at West Ham. A heartbreaking late loss at Anfield last week has left the Hammers in 17th, but this weekend offers a winnable matchup.

“West Ham and Potter should fancy themselves to take all three points in this one though, up against already relegated Southampton, a side they’ve beaten in five of their last six meetings on home soil.”

Southampton have endured a historically bad season, with only two wins from 32 matches and a dismal away record.

“Having picked up just five points on the road from a possible forty-eight, it’s hard to see Southampton getting anything from this one.”

Prediction: Match Result and 4 or More Goals in the Match – West Ham (13/5)

Aston Villa v Newcastle United – 5:30pm

Villa are coming off a gutsy comeback win over PSG in the Champions League, although they lost the tie on aggregate. Domestically, they’re on fire—four Premier League wins in a row and unbeaten in 18 at Villa Park.

“The Villans have won four of their last five meetings here against Newcastle.”

Newcastle are also surging, smashing Manchester United and Palace in back-to-back wins. They now sit third and would likely be content with a point in this one.

“Newcastle have beaten Villa in the last three meetings between the two sides, including a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture on Boxing Day. However, the Magpies have won just one of their last eight visits to Villa Park.”

With so much at stake across the league, Saturday’s fixtures could have a significant impact on the European qualification race and relegation battle. Whether you’re a diehard fan or a betting enthusiast, this weekend promises drama, goals, and plenty of talking points.
